WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing, helping the body to trigger the body's own healing mechanisms for optimum health.  It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.  A wonderful therapy to bring the body and mind back into balance and harmony.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF WESTERN REFLEXOLOGY?

Whilst the art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed ‘Zone therapy’ in the early 1900s. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930’s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone therapy into what is known as reflexology. Her opinion was that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.

REFLEXOLOGY ONE HOUR £40

This is a non invasive system of massage performed on the feet to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet which are linked to every organ and system in our bodies and by stimulating these points can bring balance back to the body and mind. In effect it triggers the body's own natural healing and repair mechanisms. Beneficial for calming the whole nervous system, balancing the hormonal system, lymphatic drainage and removal of waste toxins, boosting the immune system, circulatory, respiratory and endocrine systems.  Great for stress and anxiety.

ENHANCING FERTILITY REFLEXOLOGY ONE HOUR £40

Reflexology can boost fertility in women by working the following reflex points on the feet: the pituitary gland– this is the master gland and produces many of the hormones regulating the menstrual cycle. The hypothalamus – this regulates the pituitary hormone production. The thyroid gland – an over/under active thyroid function can impact fertility. The solar plexus – particularly if the client is stressed. All the reproductive organs. The fallopian tubes: stimulates the points to release any blockage that may exist.  The uterus  – to increase the blood circulation and promote normal functioning.
